Thank you for stopping by to visit me. Let me make you a cup of tea while I share the story of how I became the Backwoods Quilter.

In May of 2008, my husband and I moved from Edmonton, Alberta to a ten acre maple bush in rural Ontario.  It took nearly six months before we were able to move into our home and unpack but, as soon as I was able, I set up my quilt room.  It overlooks the back of the property where I am able to see deer, moose and many smaller animals as well as a myriad of song birds.  I can watch my husband chop wood or make maple syrup.  If I need a break, it is a short walk to the pond which is home to beaver and a mischievous otter.

I have been a quilter for many years but have always enjoyed designing my own patterns.  After much encouragement from my friends and family, I decided to make them available for sale.

I have used my experience as a driver educator to make the patterns easy to follow.  They often include alternate layouts and colour schemes.
